Al & Bob Pelton of SLC, UT tried some potato donuts in Germany and loved them. Upon returning to Utah, they created and perfected their own potato donut recipe, coined the name “spudnut”, and went into business in 1940. At Johnny O’s, we use the authentic spudnut recipe that the Pelton brothers created nearly 75 years ago.
We value the rich taste of authentic Spudnuts. Our Spudnuts are light and fluffy on the inside with a perfectly crisp, glazed outside that is sure to make your mouth water. We hand mix, cut, and fry our Spudnuts daily to ensure freshness and maximize flavor.
We also feature some local favorites, Caffe Ibis Coffee and Gossner's Ice Cream. Whether you want to grab a Spudnut and your favorite Caffe Ibis brew on your way to work, or stop by for an afternoon Spudnut a la mode, Johnny O's is ready to serve up something delicious.
